That particular verse

Calmly she sighed
As he walked by
Stiring her nerves
She looked to the sky
And then said goodbye
To that particular verse

It had been good, in the long run
When it wasn't bad, it was almost fun
But now it was over,
And now she would never
Know how it could have been worse

Daily he died
And wished he could hide
The hurt that had occured
He looked to the sky
And then said goodbye
To that particular verse

It had been good, in the long run
When it wasn't bad, it was almost fun
But now it was over,
And now he would never
Know how it could have been worse

They both knew the cause
They both could have paused
But instead they wait
And learn to antispate
The hopeful beginning
Of their very first ending
Even though it had been good
It was worse in the end

It had been good, in the long run
When it wasn't bad, it was almost fun
But now it was over,
And now they will never
Know how it could have been worse
