The Depths

Overshadowed by my own pride

I walk unbound, but blind

Searching for answers that will never come

When the division is greater than the sum

I’ll never find that melody

That makes my heart sing

I’ll never find a way

To feel for every little thing

Enraptured by unattainable desires

Supplied by a gothic choir

I look to the east for the setting sun

But I won’t find it, no matter where I run

I’ll never find that rhythmic beat

That sets my feet to dancing

I’ll never find a way

To create something lasting

Hope is foreign

Love ever failing

Faith is dashed

The sun ever paling

I’ll never find that dancer

That leads me step by step

I’ll never find a way

To come up from the depths
