Must have been a dream

I remember a time

Long long ago

When you said

You’d never let go

I remember a time

When the world was all green

But then I woke up

To a different scene

The lights were dim

The grass withered and gone

And the people around me

Said it was like that all along

It must have just been a dream

Not one ounce of reality

It’s nothing like it used to be

‘Cause you and I are nothing

I remember a day

When the sun would shine

And I know in my heart

That you would always be mine

I remember a day

When the world was sublime

But I guess that life

Is in a different time

The lights are dim

The grass withered and gone

I guess it’s been like this

All along

It must have just been a dream

Not one ounce of reality

It’s nothing like it used to be

‘Cause you and I are nothing

We're nothing

I'll Pray for You

My faith isn’t the best

You might say it’s on the ground

But I can see you’re hurting

Even though you don’t make a sound

I can’t say I’m religious

I can’t say I’m spiritual

But if only to help you through it

I’ll start a ritual

To keep you on your feet

And from feeling blue

If I pray for no one else

I’ll pray for you

You shoulder all their burdens

Even imaginary ones

You keep your morals steady

And smile like you’ve already won

So I’ll use this little song

To tell you how I feel

For you I’ll do something odd

I’ll bow my head and kneel

I can’t say I’m religious

I can’t say I’m spiritual

But if only to help you through it

I’ll start a ritual

To keep you on your feet

And from feeling blue

If I pray for no one else

I’ll pray for you

I’ll pray for you

Tell Me

Tell me I’m stupid for caring so much

Tell me I’m stupid for trying

Tell me whatever you think I deserve

Just don’t tell me to stop crying

Tell me I’m stupid for thinking of clouds

Tell me I’m stupid to reaching

Tell me whatever you think I deserve

But don’t you dare start preaching

You can tell me what you want

You can call me a bitch

But don’t expect my sympathy

‘Cause you ain’t getting shit

Tell me I’m stupid for wanting the best

Tell me I’m stupid for dreaming

Tell me whatever you think I deserve

But don’t cry as I’m leaving

You can tell me what you want

You can call me a bitch

But don’t expect my devotion

‘Cause you ain’t getting shit

Say what you will

Say what you want

Say what you will

Say what you want

You can tell me what you want

You can call me a bitch

But don’t expect my gratitude

‘Cause you ain’t getting shit

Me and You

You’re the star of the play

You’re the talk of the town

Not even the weather

Can get you down

You’re the life of the party

You’re center of attention

Not once do you stop

And look at your reflection

If you did you’d see

All the lies and greed

If you did you’d see

What you’re doing to me

You said that you loved me

But I know it’s not true

If you really loved me

I’d be more important than you

You take your fame

And your achievements

I don’t really need you

Just go and get bent

You said that you loved me

But I know it’s not true

If you really loved me

I’d be more important than you

Model Citizen

Keep your conscience locked in a jar in your pantry

Ignoring what the preacher man says on Sunday

Tell the children one thing then do another

You could change your life, but you don’t bother

Life here in heaven sure is sweet

But you’re deceiving every person you meet

Waltzing around acting like you care

They might call you on it, but never dare

You could start to do good

But you don’t have the time

Sleeping around

Drinking too much wine

You’re the model citizen

Out in the world

But behind closed doors

You’d make a stripper hurl

So take your red dress

And slip on some shoes

‘Cause in the end

You’re just bad news

The Depths

Overshadowed by my own pride

I walk unbound, but blind

Searching for answers that will never come

When the division is greater than the sum

I’ll never find that melody

That makes my heart sing

I’ll never find a way

To feel for every little thing

Enraptured by unattainable desires

Supplied by a gothic choir

I look to the east for the setting sun

But I won’t find it, no matter where I run

I’ll never find that rhythmic beat

That sets my feet to dancing

I’ll never find a way

To create something lasting

Hope is foreign

Love ever failing

Faith is dashed

The sun ever paling

I’ll never find that dancer

That leads me step by step

I’ll never find a way

To come up from the depths
